Okay, maybe that's not something you'd want to do every evening, but I'd had this pallet of flagstone left over from the south gardens and it had been simply sitting around for years. Might as well make it more useful and less in the way. |
I'd been meaning to lay out the flagstones like this for some time, but I'd been putting it off, thinking that I really ought to dig up the area, lay down some tarp and/or landscaping fabric, cart in enough sand to build a base to lay the flagstones on, and all that sort of prep work. ...which was probably why the flagstones had sat untouched for years. |
I figure if I ever do decide that I really want to "do it right," I'll just slip the landscaping fabric, sand, and all that underneath the flagstone. Yeah, right. But this way I have a patio that's waiting for me to truck in some sand and stuff rather than an inconveniently-located pallet of flagstone that looks like it's thinking about falling over just as soon as something fragile gets placed next to it. |

Besides, there wouldn't have been time to do the whole "digging, laying landscape fabric, and spreading sand" thing and still make it to my singing debut. |
...but we'll have to get to that story later.... |
